Lumina lamb (previously known as Te Mana) was born from one wildly ambitious goal— to breed the world’s most succulent lamb. Hailing from New Zealand hill and high country, Lumina lamb is 100% natural, free range, grass-fed and finished on specially cultivated chicory herb pastures. The meat itself is finely marbled and offers excellent health attributes, as well as unrivalled tenderness, texture and taste.
This is the true story of a group of people who embarked on a 15-year journey of exploration. A community of pioneers who put everything on the line to make their vision a reality.
It all started with an idea. To usher in a new kind of lamb that would be revered the world over as the pinnacle of breeding, growing and finishing. One that would give culinary masters the perfect canvas with which to create. A lamb that would provide a consistent melt-in-the-mouth experience that surpassed any other.They say it takes a village to raise a child. And so it goes for creating the perfect breed of lamb. The Lumina family were (and still are) a group of experts. Farmers, shepherds, butchers, geneticists, chefs and agronomists - all passionate about their combined vision. And each with their own specialty, all able to contribute new and radical ideas.
This was an exciting time of creativity, curiosity and collaboration. A community of experts all committed to the pursuit of perfection. And after years of research and testing, they succeeded in turning their dream into a reality.
The name ‘Lumina’ acknowledges the contribution made by the entire Lumina family whose commitment is captured in every cut of their delicious meat. It is,quite simply, a game-changing experience for chefs and diners alike.
And the Lumina story is still being written. Because, although they’re incredibly proud of what they’ve achieved so far, they’re always pushing new boundaries.
